motd -- message of the day displayed at login

Description

motd contains the message of the day that every user sees when they log into the system. A system administrator normally updates this file on a regular basis to inform of: Display the message of the day at any time while logged in by typing pg /etc/motd. Suppress the appearance of the message using the hushlogin feature described in login(M).

Examples

   NOTE:      The system will be shut down at 14:00 (2 PM) today Tuesday
              December 4 for installation of a new disk drive. Service
              will be restored at 16:00 (4 PM) at the earliest.
   

GENERAL: The system is not available on Mondays between 08:00 and 10:00 when system backup is performed.
