Creating, moving, and copying files

To create a file, select New File from the File menu. Enter the filename in the field in the dialog box. No slashes ("/") are allowed.

To create a directory, select New Directory from the File menu. Enter the directory name in the field. No slashes ("/") are allowed. The new directory becomes a subdirectory in the directory in which it is created.

For information on creating text files, see ``Creating files with Edit''.

You can move a file or directory from one directory window into another directory window by using mouse button 1 to drag the file or directory icon, or by dropping a file or directory icon onto another directory's icon.

To copy a file or directory from one directory window to another directory window, use mouse button 2 to drag the file or directory icon from one window to the other.

You can also use the icon menu for moving and copying files and directories. Hold down mouse button 3 on the file or directory icon to select from this menu.
