The kernels of all embedded configurations include the kernel modifications to support SURF. The SCO OpenServer 5 kernel code does not include SURF hooks for the events that are monitored by the commands that are used for sample monitoring processes, so these commands do not work on SCO OpenServer 5 systems.
The SURF driver
and API required to hook a kernel-level driver
and create a "consuming" program
to report on driver performance
are included in the SCO OpenServer 5 ndtests package
that can be installed from
the HDK CD-ROM
or downloaded from
the HDK web page.
This code is in the ./tools/surf/surf-ahdk.tar file.
Install this by following the instructions
in the README file in the
./tools/surf directory.
