Configuring devices with bootstrings

You should read ``Using bootstrings'' if any of these conditions are true:

• You are planning to install a combination of devices in your computer and do not want to install the operating system on the default device.

• You want to disable any erroneous device presence tests or driver actions.

• Following installation, you need to boot from a device that was not configured at the time your kernel was created.
