Using the default configuration

If you install your SCO OpenServer system without modifying any calendar defaults, your system is ready for use in a non-networked setting. In this case, the client and server are located on the same computer, and client-server communication takes place via named pipes. While the default configuration values are effective in the vast majority of cases, you may still want to alter the retries and timeout settings to enhance system performance.
