Administering a Calendar server

Stopping and starting the server (7)

You need to stop the server process on the server computer before you can run the Calendar Configuration utility, which is described in ``Configuring the calendar (9)''.

Stopping the server process ensures that the database is not corrupted during configuration. After you run this utility, you must restart the server process so your users can access the calendar data. In addition, you may need to restart the server process if the machine crashes unexpectedly.

To start or stop the server process, follow these steps:

  1. Enter 7 at the Calendar Administration menu. The Start/Stop menu appears.

  2. Enter 1 to stop the server process, 2 to start the server process, or q to quit.

  3. Press <Return> to return to the Calendar Administration menu.
