Installing the software

Setting up the Network File System (NFS) involves the following tasks:


NOTE: A machine can be both a server and a client -- both sharing local resources with remote machines and mounting remote resources. Throughout this NFS topic, we assume you are setting up your machine as both a server and a client. If you are setting up machines that are to be dedicated servers or clients, follow the instructions for sharing and mounting as appropriate.
