Distributing maps to nonmaster servers

To ensure that all NIS servers in the same NIS domain are using the same set of maps, distribute (propagate) maps to nonmaster servers whenever you change an existing map or add a new map at the master server.

Use yppush at the master to distribute maps to slave servers.

A master cannot push a map to a copy-only server. Copy-only servers poll the master at set intervals for map updates and acquire those maps that have changed since the copy-only server last polled.
