User-defined options

In addition to the DHCP options specified in RFC 2132, you can add new options. These user-defined options become part of the total set of DHCP options configurable globally or for any client, subnet or class. To define a new option, you need to specify the following information for it:

• option name

• description of the option

• options type (for example, IP address, string, integer, and so on)

• minimum and maximum allowed values for the option (if the option is an integer)

• minimum and maximum allowed length for the option (if the option is an IP address, string, binary or array)
