Configuring the Domain Name Service (DNS)

DNS resolvers

A resolver is a DNS client responsible for building queries and sending them to name servers. After the name server answers the query, the resolver returns the results and status to the calling application. SCO TCP/IP implements a stub resolver, which is embedded into client applications such as telnet.
