Notifying users of updates

The notify command is useful for notifying users of changes to the system. You can use rdist to tell them exactly what has changed and when. The mail message sent by rdist looks like:

   From: rdist@grande (Remote distribution program)
   To: julia@yukon
Subject: files updated by rdist from grande to yukon

updating: /export/root/yukon/etc/motd updating: /export/root/yukon/etc/passwd

The files updated on yukon are /etc/motd and /etc/passwd.
