accton(ADM)


accton -- turn on accounting

Syntax

/usr/lib/acct/accton [ file ]

Description

accton turns process accounting on and off. If no file is given then accounting is turned off. If file is given, the kernel appends process accounting records. (See acct(S-osr5) and acct(FP)).

used for login name to user ID conversions

/usr/adm/pacct
current process accounting file

/usr/adm/sulogin
super user login history file

/etc/wtmp
login/logout history file
