link, unlink --
link and unlink files and directories
Syntax
/etc/link file1 file2
/etc/unlink file
Description
The link command is used to create a file name
that points to another file.
Linked files and directories can be removed by the
unlink command; however, it is strongly recommended
that the
rm(C)
and
rmdir(C)
commands be used instead of the unlink command.
The only difference between
ln(C)
and link/unlink
is that the latter do exactly what they are told to do,
abandoning all error checking.
This is because they directly invoke the
link(S-osr5)
and
unlink(S-osr5)
system calls.
Limitations
These commands can be run only by the super user.
