When you finish editing, click on the Save button in the toolbar or select Save from the File menu. Enter the filename in the dialog box, or select from the list of filenames.
To make a backup copy of your file each time you save it, select Save Backups from the Option menu. This option automatically creates a backup file containing the previous version whenever you save a file. To retrieve that previous version, look for a file with the same name, ending with .bak. Note that each backup overwrites the previous one.
