Creating help files for network driver configuration

Localization

SVR5 systems are internationalized to provide for efficient translations of management interfaces, message catalogs, and documentation. When a customer sets the appropriate $LANG variable, documentation and context-sensitive help becomes available in the desired language; the $LANG variable is also used by developers to install localized components in a distinct hierarchy. Localized SVR5 environments are provided for these languages (shown with corresponding LANG variables):

English
en_US.ISO8859-1 (default)

French
fr_FR.ISO8859-1

German
de_DE.ISO8859-1

Japanese
ja_JA.ISO8859-1

Spanish
sp_SP.ISO8859-1

Help files from technology partners are localized in the next product release.

Independent vendors are not required to supply localized documentation; you can elect to supply help files in English only, using the English $LANG variable in your installation scripts. If localized documentation is not available on a system set with a non-English LANG variable, scohelp will default to the English version. However, we localize driver configuration help files, and we recommend that you do so as well. We provide localization for drivers and associated help files included in its products.

See ``Languages'' for more information on SVR5 document localization.
