Testing whether you can dial in
If you want to allow dial-in connections, follow
these steps to test your system:

Check that the modem is set to auto-answer. There may be an
``Auto Answer'' light on the modem's front panel to show this.

Enable the modem control port, for example:
enable /dev/tty1A

Dial this modem from another modem.
