Using Mail

Modifying the print command

When you print a message, it is sent to your default printer using the lp -c command. To modify the print command, click on the Setup button, and enter the command you want to use.

If you print a multipart message with one or more attachments, a short description of each attachment is printed instead of the actual data (unless the attachment is plain text).

NOTE: The default print command, lp -c, makes its own internal copy of the mail message to ensure the correct message gets printed, especially if the printing might not take place immediately (for example if you use a print queue). If you modify the default print command, use whatever print options are necessary to ensure that the print command makes an internal copy of the message.
