Using Mail

Creating mail attachments

You can create a new mail attachment to include with a draft by selecting Create from the Attachments menu. Specify the type of the new attachment by selecting from the list (click on the down arrow to display the list), and type a comment to display in the attachment heading. The appropriate software to create this type of attachment starts. When you finish, the attachment is added to the list.

Some people with whom you exchange mail may be using mail programs that cannot display all types of attachments. One type of attachment format, called uuencode format, is used by a number of mailers such as Portfolio(TM) mail or SCO® Shell Mail.

If correspondents inform you that their mailer only supports uuencode format, before adding an attachment select Format from the Attachments menu and select Uuencode Format. To return to sending multiple attachment types, select MIME Format.
