Configuring kernel parameters

Kernel messages about exceeding system limits

There are cases when the system kernel will advise you that system limits are being exceeded. These messages appear on your console. Some of the messages are advisory only, but others precede a system panic in which case additional diagnostic messages are printed, requiring you to reboot. If you encounter any of the messages listed in the following table, refer to the associated tunable parameter for additional information.
