Testing

Technology partners should inspect HTML files in a browser before submission to ensure their desired appearance. Other packaging and testing will be performed by our staff.

Independent vendors should test online documentation before distribution. To do so:

1. Ensure that the HTML files are packaged according to the guidelines in ``SCOhelp system directory structure'' and ``Running ODSSI scripts''.

2. Install the package on a SVR5 system using pkgadd.

3. Run the Network Configuration Manager to configure your driver. Press <F1> or click on Help from the Modify and View screens to ensure that your help file is found.

   If the file is not found, ensure that:

   • the install scripts place the file in /usr/lib/scohelp/LANG/HW_netdrivers (see Localization above)

   • the HTML file prefix matches the driver's .bcfg file prefix

   • the HTML file is named in the driver's .bcfg file in the HELPFILE parameter

4. When your file is found, click on each of the links to ensure activity.

   If the doc links are inactive, make sure that config_help is run by the install script.

5. Invoke scohelp by clicking on its icon or entering:
   
   scohelp&

   From the list of topics, click on:
   
   Hardware -> Network Adapter Notes

   Check that your adapter appears in the list and that the link is active.

   If your adapter is not in the list, make sure that config_help is run by the install script.

6. Repeat these procedures for each bus type on which your driver installs.

7. Repeat these procedures for each localized driver version.

We will check for adherence to style guidelines but will not exhaustively test hotlinks.
